Gujarat State Judicial Services

  • Phase 1 – Gujarat Judicial Services Prelims examination is of objective type.
  • Phase 2 – Gujarat Judicial Services Mains examination is of written type.
  • Phase 3 – Gujarat Judicial Services Interview

Negative marking of 0.33 will be deducted for the wrongly attempted questions in the prelims examination.

PHASE 1 – PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

First, you will take the preliminary exam for the Gujarat Judicial Services, an objective test with 200 marks and a two-hour time limit. The following components will form the basis of the question:

Part – A

  • The Indian Penal Code,1860
  • The Code of Criminal Procedure,1973
  • The Indian Evidence Act,1872
  • The Gujarat Prohibition Act,1949(Old Bombay Prohibition Act)
  • The Negotiable Instruments Act,1881(Only chapter XVII)

Part – B

  • The code of Civil Procedure,1908
  • The Limitation Act,1963
  • The Indian Contract Act,1872
  • The Constitution of India – {Part-III – Fundamental Rights (Articles 12 to 35A)& Part – IVA-Fundamental Duties}

Part – C

  • General Knowledge
  • English Language
  • Test of Reasoning
  • Numerical and Mental Ability and Basics of Computer Applications.

PHASE 2 – MAINS EXAMINATION

The exam is conducted under the three papers;

PAPER I – CRIMINAL PAPER (75 marks)

You will be asked the question based on the following:

  • The Probation of Offenders Act,1958
  • The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children)Act,2015

  • The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act,1956
  • Pre-conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection)Act,1994
  • The Negotiable Instruments Act,1881(Only Ch. XVII)
  • The Registration of Births and Deaths Act,1969
  • PAPER-II – CIVIL PAPER (75M)

    You will be asked the question based on the following:

    • The code of Civil Procedure,1908
    • The Limitation Act,1963
    • The Indian Contract Act,1872
    • The Indian Partnership Act,1932
    • The Specific Relief Act,1963
    • The Gujarat Court Fees Act,2004

    PAPER III – LANGUAGE (50M)

    • Gujarati Language

    NOTE: Minimum marks are 40% in each written paper and aggregate of 50% to qualify the interview. Relaxation of 5% has been made for SC/ST/PWD.

    PHASE 3 – INTERVIEW
